As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, we joined the Flexisaf Foundation for an inspiring event on May 26 at Government Secondary School, Gwarimpa, focused on Mental Health Awareness in Schools.
Our Clinical Psychologist, Judith Ada Chiroma, led a session titled “Mental Wellness: Breaking the Silence on Bullying and Seeking Help.” She encouraged students to:
- Recognize how bullying affects emotional wellbeing
- Prioritize their mental health
- Understand that seeking help is a sign of strength
The interactive discussion gave students a safe space to reflect and speak freely about their experiences. Many shared stories about how bullying and stress impact their mood and focus, while others learned healthy coping skills and where to find support.
By promoting mental health awareness in schools, we help young people build confidence, resilience, and empathy — key ingredients for healthy learning environments.
At The Sunshine Series, we remain committed to creating safe spaces where young minds can thrive. Together, we can ensure that every school becomes a place where mental health truly matters.
