On 7th & 8th April, 2022, we partnered with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) and other partners to offer therapy to students who have escaped the War in Ukraine and are battling with psychological distress due to the impact of the war/displacement they experienced and the disruption of their education.
This is a laudable intervention as trauma from an experience of war and displacement can have lasting negative impact on the overall wellbeing of affected persons.
We are grateful to Hon. Abike Dabiri, CEO, NIDCOM for this opportunity to serve. We look forward to more public-private partnerships that make mental health more accessible for all.
